Full-Day Swordfish Trips
On this 10-hour adventure, you and Captain William will be targeting Swordfish, Mahi, as well as Tuna! Join this action-packed fishing trip and create memories of a lifetime as you chase these fierce creatures. The peak season for Swordfishing typically runs from November through April, when these massive fish migrate through the area. Fights can last anywhere from 45 minutes to over two hours—testing the endurance of even the most experienced anglers—with some fish weighing over 200lbs.
The departure time for our Marathon Swordfish Charters is 7:30 a.m.
Target Species
On these trips, we’re heading up to 33 miles offshore to the deeper waters of the Atlantic to target Swordfish. The state limit is one fish per angler, per day. If we see any action on the way out or the way in, we’re going to stop on the way out and the way back to hook into some Mahi Mahi and Tuna. We use a mix of live bait tactics with Ballyhoo and Pilchers.

Where We Fish
For Swordfish trips in the Florida Keys, we’re heading about 25-30 miles offshore and fishing waters about 1,400′-1,600′ deep. We have a plethora of spots where we have patterned fish. Depending on the seasons and the conditions, we may stop on the way out and on the way back to target Mahi Mahi and Tuna. These always make a welcome addition to the cooler and the dinner plate.
What's Included
We’re preparing for your trip well in advance. When you show up, the boat is clean, rods are rigged, and the baitwells are packed with live bait. We have a cooler packed with ice and water for your food and snacks.
All rods, reels, and Swordfish tackle are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters, reeling in a giant. Your trip will include all the necessary fishing licenses for the day. The crew will clean and fillet your catch for you to take home at the end of the trip.
The vessel can accommodate up to 6 anglers comfortably, no matter the skill level. Top Notch Sportfishing will provide you with all of the fishing gear for your bountiful day on the water.
We’ve got a Bluetooth stereo to connect to your device and play your music of choice.
What To Bring
We always advise our guests to pack light but to pack for the weather. We recommend long-sleeved SPF apparel and pants. In the Keys, rain can pop up at almost any time, so a rain jacket is great to have handy, but sometimes the rain is a great cool down during a hot day on the water. Be sure to bring all the food and beverages you’ll need for a day on the water—our cooler has all the room to store your essentials. It’s packed with ice, and we always have water to keep you hydrated.
If you want to bring your own fishing tackle, you’re welcome to bring it, but we use only the highest-quality rods, reels, and tackle.

Decades Of Experience
Capt. Bill Giliberti
I'm Bill, a lifelong fisherman with a passion for the water. Growing up on the Jersey Shore, I spent countless hours fishing with my dad, chasing Fluke, Sea Bass, Stripers, and Bluefish in the salty waters. And when I wasn't on the coast, I was exploring freshwater lakes and streams for Largemouth and Trout.
I moved to Marathon Ten years ago and never looked back. I founded Top Notch Sportfishing to share my love of fishing in the Florida Keys with others.
