Offshore Fishing Trips
Come aboard and enjoy a day exploring offshore grounds around Marathon in the Florida Keys! Prepare for a memorable chase for Mahi, Blackfin Tuna, and Sailfish. All the equipment will be waiting for you on board. Our offshore fishing charters are filled with a variety of fish species, big fish, and epic fights. We personalize each and every trip to your group and pride ourselves in providing a memorable experience offshore with us.
Target Species
Offshore fishing in Marathon is home to some of the most popular sportfish and best-eating fish in the Florida Keys. We’re using a mix of kite fishing, trolling with outriggers using Ballyhoo, and vertical jigging with live Pilchards. Popular species include Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Tuna, Wahoo, and more!
Where We Fish
On our offshore fishing charters, we’re heading up to 33 miles offshore of Marathon. After about 12 miles, we start looking for fish, keeping our eyes out for weed lines, floating debris, and birds. These all hold Mahi Mahi and other popular target species. Destinations included the Marathon Hump where we’ll vertical jig for Blackfin Tuna and Skipjack Tuna.
What's Included
We’re preparing for your trip well in advance. When you show up, the boat is clean, rods are rigged, and the baitwells are packed with live bait. We have a cooler packed with ice and water for your food and snacks.
All rods, reels, and offshore tackle are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters: reeling in a giant. Your trip will include all the necessary fishing licenses for the day. The crew will clean and fillet your catch for you to take home at the end of the trip.
The vessel can accommodate up to 6 anglers comfortably, no matter the skill level. Top Notch Sportfishing will provide you with all of the fishing gear for your bountiful day on the water.
We’ve got a Bluetooth stereo to connect to your device and play your music of choice.
What To Bring
We always advise our guests to pack light but to pack for the weather. We recommend long-sleeved SPF apparel and pants. In the Keys, rain can pop up at almost any time, so a rain jacket is great to have handy, but sometimes the rain is a great cool down during a hot day on the water. Be sure to bring all the food and beverages you’ll need for a day on the water—our cooler has all the room to store your essentials. It’s packed with ice, and we always have water to keep you hydrated.
If you want to bring your own fishing tackle, you’re welcome to bring it, but we use only the highest-quality rods, reels, and tackle.

Capt. Bill Giliberti
I'm Bill, a lifelong fisherman with a passion for the water. Growing up on the Jersey Shore, I spent countless hours fishing with my dad, chasing Fluke, Sea Bass, Stripers, and Bluefish in the salty waters. And when I wasn't on the coast, I was exploring freshwater lakes and streams for Largemouth and Trout.
I moved to Marathon Ten years ago and never looked back. I founded Top Notch Sportfishing to share my love of fishing in the Florida Keys with others.
