Tarpon Fishing Trips
Join us during the Spring as we target one of the most sought-after sportfish in the world, Tarpon! The water is generally calm in the areas we target Tarpon so that makes this a good option for anglers who are weary of rough seas or venturing far from shore. Tarpon feed at dawn and dusk. A dusk trip will offer a view of the sunset from the boat. This trip is available April-June.
Fly Anglers: The open layout of the bow of our boat is great for fly fishing. If you want to fly fish, please bring your own fly tackle. We love hosting fly anglers but do not have fly tackle.
Target Species
The main species we’re targeting during this limited migration are the silver kings themselves, Tarpon! We’re following big schools of massive fish and positioning you to hook into the fight of your life. We’re primarily using live mullet and live pinfish, free-lining them in the current. Common other species we catch on these trips include Barracuda and Shark.
Where We Fish
Depending on how far along we are in the season, we’re fishing the world-famous Seven-Mile Bridge, Bahia Honda State Park, Long Key Bridge, and following schools of Tarpon through different channels and currents as they migrate and chase baitfish.
What's Included
We’re preparing for your trip well in advance. When you show up, the boat is clean, rods are rigged, and the baitwells are packed with live bait. We have a cooler packed with ice and water for your food and snacks.
All rods, reels, and Tarpon tackle are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters: reeling in a trophy. Your trip will include all the necessary fishing licenses for the day. The crew will clean and fillet any other keeper species for you to take home at the end of the trip.
The vessel can accommodate up to 6 anglers comfortably, no matter the skill level. Top Notch Sportfishing will provide you with all of the fishing gear for your bountiful day on the water.
We’ve got a Bluetooth stereo to connect to your device and play your music of choice.
What To Bring
We always advise our guests to pack light but to pack for the weather. We recommend long-sleeved SPF apparel and pants. In the Keys, rain can pop up at almost any time, so a rain jacket is great to have handy, but sometimes the rain is a great cool down during a hot day on the water. Be sure to bring all the food and beverages you’ll need for a day on the water—our cooler has all the room to store your essentials. It’s packed with ice, and we always have water to keep you hydrated.
If you want to bring your own fishing tackle, you’re welcome to bring it, but we use only the highest-quality rods, reels, and tackle.

Capt. Bill Giliberti
I'm Bill, a lifelong fisherman with a passion for the water. Growing up on the Jersey Shore, I spent countless hours fishing with my dad, chasing Fluke, Sea Bass, Stripers, and Bluefish in the salty waters. And when I wasn't on the coast, I was exploring freshwater lakes and streams for Largemouth and Trout.
I moved to Marathon Ten years ago and never looked back. I founded Top Notch Sportfishing to share my love of fishing in the Florida Keys with others.
